At 5h50 this morning I was awake. I watched a bit of news, got ready and wrote in my daybook. One of my favorite things is watching the sun go up from my room. You get a very nice view of the sky getting clearer, the lights on the buildings, etc. The sun is up at about 7h.

On the news in Singapore: "Man looses 300$ and valuables to snatch thieves." That would never make the news in Canada, but it seemed to be quite a big deal for Singapore...

Sept. 6 21h Singapore Time
Today after breakfast, I went to the pool. It was a really nice, relaxing, tropical pool. I swam a bit, came back to read the newspaper, swam some more, etc. At around 10h30, I went to shower and check out of my room. They kept my luggage for the day so I was able to get some more sightseeing done. First, I walked a bit in the Colonial District. After, I went to Suntec City to try and find the MANGO store there, but got lost... The only thing I found was a Subway sandwhich store so I had my favorite, the roasted chicken breast, but it was not as good because the barbecue sauce was too different. After, I tried to go to Chinatown but got lost again trying to find my way there. The only good thing is that I found the Millenia Walk and Roy Lichtenstein art work which was pretty impressive. Finally I found my way and took the metro to the Singapore Heritage Museum which was near my home. I arrived just on time for the two movies, one of which was 3D with glasses. It was very informative. I then toured around the exhibition (with objects of Singapore's history) as well as a photography exhibition about SARS. Then I went to the Chinatown metro station to go to the Chinese Heritage Center. It was very nice to see the old tailor house with the rented spaces for families, kitchen, etc. They seemed to be so poor! The guided tour that came with the visit was also interesting because the girl pointed out many things I had not noticed or explained what objects were and how they were used. I then searched for an Internet cafe but the one I enventually found was closed! I took money out of the bank for a cab to the airport later and dinner and settled in a restaurant on Boat Quay to have chicken, beef and lamb satay. After. I went back to the hotel, got my bags, showered and went to the airport. I checked in and found places with free Internet, so emailed and surfed a bit before going to sit at the gate (actually lay on 3 seats) and sleep a bit before the gate opened (around 23h for a 00h20 flight).
