Sept. 5 8h Singapore Time
The day began at 5h. I could not sleep anymore so I got up and phone my boyfriend asking him to call me back because it is cheaper that way. My mom also called me afterwards, which was very nice! I looked at my pictures on the TV screen and saw how nice most of them had turned out. Before going down for breakfast, I planned out the day. At breakfast, I ate: smoked salmon (YUM!), croissant, peaches, watermelon, muffins, yogourt, orange juice, bacon, etc. It was varied and very nice. I'm heading out to Chinatown now.

Sept. 5 About 13h Singapore Time
I am just back from a lot of sightseeing. It was nice. I first went to Chinatown and saw a lot of nice houses and temples. After, I took the subway to Orchard Road, but most of the shops were closed. They opened later on Sundays. It was my least favorite thing of the day, just really commercial. Afterwards, I went off to find Fort Canning Park. At Dhoby Gaut subway station, it took me a while to find how to get to the park but found it eventually! To get there, I had to go up a lotttt of stairs. At the top, I was so warm and sweating, I could not cool down! I wanted to see the Battlebox (old underground British army command center) but it was not yet opened. I walked further to find that there were all kinds of people selling different goods at a yoga conference, which was open to everyone. I went in and bought the best donut I've ever had as well as a Sprite (which helped to cool me). I went back to the Battlebox (500m, not far) and finally could get in to buy tickets. I was the only one there at the time so I did not know if it was a good idea to go to that museum anymore! I watched a video about the day Singapore fell to Japan but the sound quality was so bad I could not understand much of it. Afterwards, more people joined me and we started the tour of the Battlebox. It was kind of neat. They had recreated the day Singapore fell in the Battlebox. They had full-sized moving wax army men in each room with objects from that time. We saw the switchboard room, the message room, the general's office, a meeting room, etc. It must have been very depressing to live in there, very dark and gloomy place! After that, I walked through Fort Canning Park back to the hotel. The room cleaner was just about to do my room so I packed my stuff and went to the pool. As soon as I arrived, the rain started, so I did not stay long in the water/at the pool. I took a shower and am now planning tomorrow.

Sept. 5 About 21h Singapore Time
I fell asleep from 15h to about 18h30. Afterwards, I changed and went to Boat Quay in order to find food! It was just as my boyfriend told me, the people all try to get you into their restaurant. It was a bit annoying. I choose one of the last restaurants because of 3 reasons: they did not try to lure me into their restaurant, it was Italian food and I felt like eating something I knew and I did not feel like walking back to the other restaurant I had seen at the beginning of that street! The bad thing about the restaurant was service! It was so slow!! You had to wave your hand for them to come to the table. It cost about 20$Singapore for the plate of "penne a la bolognese" and a 7up. Not too bad I guess! Afterwards, I made a video of the city at night because pictures were almost impossible to make: not enough lighting! I walked back to the hotel on a parallel street to Boat Quay so that the restaurant people would leave me alone! I had eaten already! I stopped at a 7 Eleven convinience store to buy orange juice, cookies and water. At about 21h30 I went to sleep.
