Leaving
This morning I left. At the airport, it was not really organized. There was no one to tell me where I had to go and the queues were all closed off with rubans/cords. Finally a woman helped me out. My luggage is going all the way through Singapore so that is one less worry! On the flight I could have watched Stepford Wives but I did not, I prefered to watch it later on when I would not be so sleepy. I only was able to sleep 1 hour...! They gave us a kind of bizzare egg omelette with mushrooms and very spicy potatoes for breakfast. It was not too tasty. So I am now very hungry. I'll try to find something to eat at the airport in Vancouver. I see on the little screen we are now between Edmonton and Calgary, just about 1h to go to the flight.

When I arrived at Vancouver airport, I went to look for my gate. An old lady at the information desk directed me to gate D53, which was not yet showing on the screens because the flight did not leave for a while. There were enough shops and restaurants to keep me entertained for a while. I started by changing money (100$Singapore = 87$Canada). Afterwards I ate a sandwhich and a soup, but it was really expensive for the food (10$). After, I bought a new money belt in case I needed it because I had forgotten mine home. The new one is less nice, it is made of cotton and the elastic does not seem very comfortable. My old one was made out of silk!

We are finally on the plane now. It is nice, the seats are colourful (blue and purple) and the steward(esse)s wear traditionnal clothing. I am happy to have my own screen and KrysWorld which will allow me to watch anything (choice of 60 movies and tons of TV programs).

I just ate lunch. We had chicken, rice, salad, cheese and a bread. IT was good 3/5. I also just watched Stepford Wives. It was an alright movie. I am tired but do not feel like sleeping yet. Later on.

I just watched Raising Helen. It was an ok movie. Singapore Airlines is pretty impressive airline. They offered us apples/fruit/pastry as a snack. Also, when they pass in the aisles, they are trying to pick up the empty glasses and trash. They are also very quick with giving you something to drink. Until now, it is the best service I' ve had on an airline. I'll try to sleep again now.

I slept just about 1 hour and half. I woke up because they were serving what they called dinner, but my body felt like it was 3am! I ate Korean beef that was not so yummy. The only thing I really liked was the piece of bread and the cherries from the desert. After sleeping I went to the bathroom. It is strange... For the second time today Asian men insisted that I use the toilet before them, though they were both clearly waiting to go. Might be the polite thing to do in their country...! I am now watching a program about Greece.

In Korea, we had to get out of the airplane. I am so tired, sitting in this nice modern airport but it feels cold as everything is in grey tones. I do not understand what they are saying on the speakers, even though it is English! So, the first pictures of my trip are from Seoul, Korea!

I just slept about 2 hours. I've been gone for 27 hours now I think! In Korea, I've gotten a new back row neighbor... A 2 year old kid!! He does not stop moving around and hitting my seat. The two Indian guys (father and son) sitting besides me in my row are not happy as well. I mentionned it to the kids' mother, but the hitting the seat only stopped for 1 hour before starting again. The kid is just like a little monkey! Singapore airlines aren't very scared... They give us real knives to use and they have razors in the toilet! It is something you would never see on a North American company!
