Around 10h, my friend's dad, stepmom and younger sister came to pick us up in Hilversum. I did not know where we were going, it was a surprise for me. We drove a long way, direction Utrecht, then direction Rotterdam/DenHaag, then more towards the South. Along the way, we stopped for gas and had a snack (nice sandwiches with a drink). We were in the Zeeland province, and arrived to our destination, the WaterLand Neeltje Jans (www.neeltjejans.nl). We visited the museum about the 1953 flood catastrophe, saw different water fishes in aquariums, walked inside the storm surge barrier and saw the Delta works and how they built these enormous barriers, went inside a whale and learned about it, we saw seals being fed, went twice in a nice water slide and experienced over 120 km/h winds in a wind room.
After, we rode back to Weesp, using a scenic route between Vinkeveen and Weesp. It was very nice, tiny road, big majestic houses, nice gardens, green trees, water ways, etc. After arriving in Weesp, we ordered food. I had a typical Dutch thing, the berehap met satésaus, some strange meat with a peanut sauce. It was ok, but I could not eat it all. Later, we went back to Hilversum. It was a very nice day.
