On this day, it was time to go explore Amsterdam. my friend and I got up early (Picture 1) and left Hilversum to to go the Amsterdam Centraal Station (Picture 2). We then decided to go to the Vincent Van Gogh museum (Picture 3) because it was a famous, Dutch painter I know about a bit. It was my first time at a "real" museum. It was very crowded, we had to queue up outside for a few minutes. Inside we saw hundreds of paintings some very famous ones, but also my favourite "Les Iris" (The Irises), of which I bought a reproduction to decorate my appartment, and also an exposition on light through the years.

After Van Gogh, we took the Circle Tram 20 (the touristic line) to go to the Dam, a famous square. In summer time, there is animation, people doing music, etc. Just besides the Dam was Madame Tussaud, a wax museum. Inside we got to learn about Holland's history through audio files while looking at the different scenoramas. First, it was a huge moving and talking man (Picture 4). Then we got to scenes of a few centuries ago (Pictures 5 & 6), an old pub with a little dog, he looked so real! (Picture 7) Following that, we saw hockey in Holland (Picture 8), which is pretty different than in Canada! After history, in the modern era, we got to see "real" people, Van Gogh (Picture 9), Dalai Lama (Picture 10), Anthony Hopkins (Picture 11) and much more!

After this, we headed to the Pancake Bakery on the Prinsengracht, situated in an old warehouse, to have delicious pancakes (Picture 13). We left the restaurant (Picture 14), and saw the beautifully lit canal (Picture 12). We took a pic before heading back home, very tired. Amsterdam is a great city!
