On Friday I left home at around 17h. I took the metro and the train to Schiphol airport. It was strange to see a security guy standing at the Lelylaan train station (the one I take, near my home). I supposed it was reinforced security due to the London bombings because when I went to Venice, 2 weeks earlier, there was no one there. I then checked in. It's always so quick to check in when you don't have any luggage!
Then passed security without any problem I went to ABN Amro to change Euros to the Danish currency, 100 Euros gave me 700 DKK and I figured that would be enough for food, museums, transport, etc. Then I went to the gate stopping at some shops for a look along the way. The flight was 30 minutes late departing but we made up time in the air and landed about 10 minutes late. I had read on the Internet that SAS did not offer free snack/drinks in economy class so I did have water and biscuits with me.
In Copenhagen I went to the to the train ticket office and bought my way to the central station, 25.50DKK. After 1 minute waiting the train arrived and 12 minutes later I was in the city centre. It was about 22h by then... I had my map of Copenhagen and proceeded to walk towards my hotel. I had reserved a room at the new Fox Hotel. It took me about 10 minutes and I got there without getting lost! I checked in and received room 405. Fox Hotel is a special hotel. It was recently renovated (opened in April I believe) and rooms were designed by 21 artists from countries all around the world. My room (as well as the hotel's lobby and facade) were designed by an Australian artist. I loved my room. It was really a piece of art. I spent a lot of time looking at the walls, ceiling, floor, etc. Not only my room was neat but the rest of the hotel also! The lobby with it's loungy chairs and neat bar/reception counter, the carpet on each floor's passage ways with a different colour and design. Then I cleaned myself in the delicious shower, I want a shower like that when I have my own house/appartment! Then I layed in the comfy bed (with a cozy duvet comforter) and watched Danish TV on the flatscreen LCD TV. The only down side was the hotel located on a busy street downtown so there was a bit of street noises but I fell asleep very quickly!
