A Week to Rest Before the Next Big Trip

Back in Sydney on Monday and Tuesday there were two big Tea Party concerts. I really enjoyed them! The first night I was down near the front on the left side of the stage: perfect spot to see Stuart! The second night I had tickets at the balcony, second row, centre, near the aisle. It was also nice because it allowed me to see the show with a view of everything (lights, all 3 members, the video screens, etc). On Tuesday also before the concert Andy and I had dinner at a hotel/resto. I had a Greek salad and some bread for about 8$. The salad was nice except the feta cheese was not too good. During the days this week I did not do much. I rested, watched television, wrote in this travel journal, did some laundry, cooked a bit of muffins/cookies, etc. Very relax to get in shape for next Monday when I start travelling again. Today I just went out to get money from my Australian bank account (which is now almost empty!) to pay Andy back for the Melbourne trip. Total it cost me an estimation of about 300$ which is a real bargain for a week long trip (food, accommodation and travels)! This week, I also have spent quite some time on the phone with people from back home, especially with my boyfriend.

Homebake

Saturday = Homebake day! At about 10h10 Andy and I left for The Domain at the Botanical Gardens where Homebake was to be held. We got in line and it was very slow moving when the grounds opened at 11h. At 12 or so I was in but Andy went to buy tickets for his friends! I first walked a bit around the grounds to see where everything was (food, 4 stages, toilets, etc). Then I went to meet with Andy at the yellow potatoe stand and I quickly got something to eat. I bought poffertjes and lemonade! I could not believe it when I saw the poffertjes stand. Poffertje is a little tiny sort of pancake made by the Dutch and it is delicious. The serving was tiny but it was worth the 10$. After I saw more bands. At about 22h55 it was over so I walked back to the Christmas tree on Martin Place to meet up with Andy. I walked quickly. My back was aching and legs and feet too so it felt awesome to be moving and feel the blood back moving in my whole body. It felt good to sit in the 23h20 bus back to Balmain. It felt even better to lie in bed and sleep!
