8.
Ana's Song (Open Fire)
With a great slow start with Daniel on his guitar.
9. Miss You Love
---Daniel: "Things only get better from here! We're gonna get funky
motherfuckers!"---
10. The Door
Daniel did a jam in this song with his guitar and his teeth, he added
new music+lyrics and danced a lot! The song lasted about ten minutes,
and also featured a drum solo from Ben.
- --Daniel (to the 2 helpers-band-members) : "Come back on stage!
Things have changed since last night, Motherfuckers yeah!"---
11. Anthem For The Year 2000
Daniel let us sing the first verse, and also made us screm "We/I(?)
love you baby!" always harder and harder!
12. Israel's Son
Extended version, verrrrrrrrry neat! One of my faves of the night!
Encore:
---Daniel came back on stage and introduced his helpers.---
13. Asylum
Not a lot of people seemed to know this song, I sang along, enjoying the
piano tune greatly!!
---Daniel did some kind of mini-sketch joking about Chris and Ben being
the rythm section. They all laughed.---
14. The Lever
Daniel was very active in this song, saluting the crowd at each end of
the stage, they extended this song quite a bit too.
15. Jam
Daniel danced, and the band members game us a strong ending to the concert,
with hard music, stop, again, stop, again, stop, etc at different lenghts
of time which was pretty neat. Daniel played his guitar like crazy, trhowing
it in the air, banging it agains't Ben's drums, etc.
The original planned
setlist for this show included Freak instead of Israel's Son, so the Frogstomp
song was a last minute addition. The decor on stage was pretty minimalist.
There was nice lighting though, a lot of variation. I thought the rainbow
lights on the side were pretty neat, and went with the Diorama CD. The
crowd in Toronto is different than in Montreal. They are less loud, less
energetic. I seemed to be one of the only one in my area screaming and
clapping after songs. Most people clapped for 2 seconds. Also for the
encore, they only clapped a bit, and chanting 10-15 seconds "silverchair".
In Montreal, the crowd usually leaves your ears buzzing for hours after
the show but not here.. Dunno if that is a good thing! ;) But Toronto
people were still good enough!!
