Tim Freedman doing a solo gig: awesome! After waiting in line for a little while, we started to go in. We had 2 reserved seats at a table which was on the good side, where you could see Tim play the piano! At about 11h45 or so, it started. It was a REALLY good concert! He played songs from all the CDs and some unreleased ones, some new ones, etc. He played one set, took a break, came back to play some more. He was joined on stage at one point by a string ensemble and also for a few songs by Jak (guitar in Whitlams). He did a second encore which went on forever because of people asking for requests. For one encore song, he asked Jak to come back on stage for backup vocals and Jak ended up taking his guitar and doing a few more songs with Tim. The gig lasted about 2h45 I think. I enjoyed it a lot, especially because of the way Tim would speak about the songs and talking with the crowd. I did not feel cut off, I felt like I was a part of the show. He was also very much into the music it seems, smiling a lot when singing/playing. It's nice to see that the artist is also enjoying himself.
